About Me
I first began my journey into the Deaf Community in 1990s when I starting to learn British Sign Language, taught by a local Deaf Tutor.

Prior to that, I worked for 15 years in Design/Print/Publishing. However after completing BSL Levels 1/2/3, I began working as a Communicator with Deaf students at a local college (2005).

In 2008, I began the degree programme BA (Hons) Deaf Studies, Communication Support & Education (Middx) based at City Lit, qualifying as a Trainee Interpreter (2011). In 2012, I became a Registered Sign Language Interpreter, following an NVQ Level 6 Diploma in BSL/English Interpreting.

I continue to develop my skills and knowledge by regularly undertaking Continuous Professional Development. In 2021, I began to study the Masters programme (part time) at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, (MSc Advancing Practice in Signed Language Interpreting), led by Dr Rachel Mapson. I exited the course with a Post Graduate Certificate in 2024; also eligible to register as a NRCPD Senior Practitioner.

At present, I work across various domains including Social Services (Sensory, Safeguarding, Child Protection, Case Conferences etc), Higher Education, Charity, Community, Training, Conference/Expo, Employment, Theatre, Visitor Tours and Legal (solicitors, safeguarding, CAB, out of court).

I offer a professional, flexible and friendly service and I value feedback from the Deaf Community. I continue to develop my knowledge and skills and welcome any queries. I can undertake both face to face and remote bookings.
Please contact me with your requirements. If I am unable to fulfil your request, I will be happy to recommended other interpreting colleagues.
